Genesis K9 Group is a leading K9 training and specialised security provider, specialising in the development and certification of highly skilled working dogs.
Pieter Nel, director of The Doggz Security Providers, explained that the course was designed to challenge and inspire both the dogs and their handlers to reach the highest levels of training. “Construction of the obstacle course began in 2022 with Rassie van Niekerk and it stands as one of the best available in South Africa,” he said.
André le Roux, founder of Genesis K9 Group, expressed appreciation for the course’s careful design. “The course was puppy-proofed, with no sharp edges or parts that could harm either the dogs or handlers,” le Roux noted.
He added, “This experience boosted the confidence of both the dogs and their handlers, and I believe it will play a key role in developing elite K9 teams for the industry.” The course included areas suitable for both large dogs and puppies, allowing even the youngest dogs to showcase their skills.
The obstacle course featured challenges involving height, water, and underground elements, all of which the dogs and their handlers navigated with ease.
Nel shared that The Doggz Security Providers carefully researched various courses, including those used by American K9 units, to select obstacles that best prepare dogs for tactical scenarios. “Every obstacle is designed with the agility, balance, strength, and confidence of the dogs in mind,” he explained.
“This top-tier tactical obstacle course is not only for our own dogs but for anyone who wants to ensure their dog is prepared to handle any real-life situation,” said Nel.
Genesis K9 Group will keep on empowering dogs and handlers to conquer any obstacle, on and off the course.
